Here is a rough preview. It's not even a months worth of progress. [Clickety Click]
I have a rough understanding of 3D concepts due to school and OG help from Nobby on teaching me basic concepts back in the day. I'm learning something new every time I work on the mod
I'm a beta tester as well. In addition to beta testing I'm making my first car mod. An Acura Integra Type R with a JDM front end conversion (what I drive in irl haha)
Would love to hear some news on it. I saw that it had moved to turbo duck but couldn't really find info.. Its alive? Any info would be interesting, Audrey thanks!
Yooo it’s been a phat minute. Hope y’all are doin good. Saw that test drive is makin a comeback which is so dope. Cant wait to see what they come up with

I had an idea a couple of weeks ago when i started work on my first gumball replica skin that we could perhaps run a replica skin contest. It could work something like this
Members could post pictures of cars that they would like to see a replica skin of(doesn't have to be gumball) in Tdu and have a week to do so. Pictures could then go into a vote and the one with the most votes is the one that has to be copied. The rest would run similar to the POTM contest where members make there version of a replica skin and posts pics of it for a vote.
It doesn't have to be a contest though, you could just display all the versions that members have posted in a gallery just for display. Might give people more reason to have a go that way as its becomes "just for fun" with no thoughts about trying to win.
Now i know judging by the lack of entries to the POTM contest that there may not be a lot of interest but i think people are far more eager to show what they can do, which could help it take off.
What do you guys think? I would like to hear from all members that come here not just the regular few.
The mod cars would be good if possible to stick them these days? I don't know if that's improved or not? I recall not being able to stick the car mods I tried but was a while back.
Some car mods can be painted and stickered, some can't. It really depends how much work the modder did. If he kept the uv map of the main body, then yeah it should be able to be stickered. if he ditched the uv map and has the body as just a standard surface material it can probably only be painted in the game..
Conserning paintable carmods: I didn't test every carmod yet, especially if they are paintable. But from the ones i tested, the BMW 1M was the only one that is 100% paintable. Every other mod i tested to paint had at least one bugged part.

I was thinking, if we do give this a go it might be best to split into 2 classes, one for modded cars and one for standard cars that are in the game otherwise should the pic be of a modded car then people may not enter simply because they don't have there game unpacked and not willing to unpack in order to use a carmod.

Heres a pic that iv'e made to go with the skinner contest, if you think it need something more or less just say, constuctive criticism is welcome The white background can be removed i just left it there so as to see better how it looked when i was making it
The reason iv'e chosen that name is that the idea behind the contest is that a car gets picked and the contestants have to then get the chosen car and "Skin It Up" plus i think it has a nice kinda ring to it but then i would think that being a stoner What do you guys think?
The logo looks nice so far, i would only make a little color hue difference between the laurel wreath and the banner. (I don't know if that sentence is expressed right. !lol )

Yeah i know what you mean, only problem is the banner, trophy and laurels are one image and i'm using photoshop to do the logo and i'm not that good with photoshop yet. but i will try and see what i can do.

Thanks Donnie, What font/fonts did you use for that image so i can get them? Photoshop told me that i have fonts missing and something about needing them to do with vectors, when i loaded the file up.
my only criticism is the similar colours used through out. even the text is a little hard to try and read as it kind of blends in with the rest of the image.. I like the idea behind it though.
I was looking around the net and found these.... I put together a group of 4 trophy images and 3 laurel wreaths. Mix n match them however you want. they might look a little better than what we already have available ( i still think the POTM trophy looks low quality even though its better than when donnie first had it)
