Here is a rough preview. It's not even a months worth of progress. [Clickety Click]
I have a rough understanding of 3D concepts due to school and OG help from Nobby on teaching me basic concepts back in the day. I'm learning something new every time I work on the mod
I'm a beta tester as well. In addition to beta testing I'm making my first car mod. An Acura Integra Type R with a JDM front end conversion (what I drive in irl haha)
Would love to hear some news on it. I saw that it had moved to turbo duck but couldn't really find info.. Its alive? Any info would be interesting, Audrey thanks!
Yooo it’s been a phat minute. Hope y’all are doin good. Saw that test drive is makin a comeback which is so dope. Cant wait to see what they come up with

ooo ME ME ME !
I currently play ...
BF3 .. rank 100 colonel .. over 950 hours .. sad i know. WarFrame. War Thunder.
Recently started playing Pay Day 2, which brings me to the main thing, if anyone plays that game, feel free to add me on steam and maybe skype and we can coordinate some heist. Its hard to play with randoms that go their own way.
GTA 5 soon. Im 98% sure i will be buying it. The game play trailer sold it for me, just the last few seconds of the video, when you see a guy stood in a sky scraper looking out and this honking great jet fighter comes screaming past. Its gonna be like SA:MP but with really good graphics.. I miss SA:MP we had an awesome map, stunt parks everywhere, our own working jail for when players misbehaved, a private casino and the BIGGEST ramp ever.. It went from the VERY top of the map (the games internal ceiling) down to about 10 meters above sea level. Even on the bmx you could hit about 150 mph then fly for about half a mile over the rooftops of the local neighbourhood..
Oh yeah.. for those that didnt realise, im talking about San Andreas Multi Player. the pc version of the game had mp capabilities written into the game, but it was never actually implemented. So some clever modders reactivated it, created a map editor and a new mp boot loader. So then anyone could make their own map and have a game server. Was awesome !!

Oh yeah, I remember those times... had a lot of fun. Modding the shit out of San Andreas and GTAIV... till the point where the textures were not being loaded properly - too many highdef mods
Im also looking forward to playing GTA5 and hopefully have as much fun with it as with the previous ones.

We also have a Nas box (network storage.. Just a crappy pc crammed with as much HDD space as possible) with a 1TB partition put aside for games, we either want to keep or have not yet installed.. We have about 90GB free on that partition now. 90gb free and its giving us the initial low drive space warning.
Dont have a ps3 any more, we got rid of both of them ( yes we had 2 ) used one for "testing" games, with our custom built usb dongle jail breaker. When it was plugged in, it was jail broken, when you took it out it wasnt.. The other we only used for GT5. We bought another Logitech G25 wheel, pedals and gear stick set ( we both already have one each for our pc's), a Recaro racing seat and then built our own adjustable racing frame for it all to be bolted onto. If you are gonna be serious about a racing game, you gotta go all the way. And having a good setup DOES make all the difference..
The 2 Xboxes... One again was for "testing" purposes, If we "tested" a game and we liked it, we bought it, if we didnt like it we threw the disc away, so we wasnt stealing games (before anyone starts that crap...) we was simply doing a "try before you buy" why drop £45 on a game that you may not even like when you get it home... ( we no longer really use this console, so we may re-lock it and sell it on.. stores dont like it when you try to sell then jail broken systems )
The other, we have quit a few games for it.. Forza 3, Forza 4, The Gears of war games, All the Xbox Guitar hero games, all the Xbox Rockband games (we have the full pro instruments set for RB3) it was because of playing the pro drums in RB3 that i got into playing real drums. Who said games were a bad influence for you.. We also have the Kinect system, so for that we have, 3 or 4 of the Sports packs, Fighters Uncaged, Dance central 1,2,3 ( its funny when your drunk.. ) Kinect Starwars ( just the Rancor rampage level is worth it ) And a handful of other games i cannot remember right now, due to not really playing them much.

i have every single classic game known to exist. from atari to nes to ps2 i have them all. only console i dont have all the games for are wii (they still make them) ps3 (not ever gonna buy one) and xbox 360 (they still make em). on top of thet 13 external HDDs holding all those games, i have more holding my pc games, which include but arent limited to:
tdu2 (duh) nfs carbon star wars kotor 1,2 sw republic commando sw jedi knight 2 outcast, academy quake 1,2,3 counterstrike 1.5, 1.6 half life 1,2 halo 1,2,3,3.5,3.75,4 elder scrolls morrowind, daggerfall, arena starcraft 1,2 minecraft delta force black hawk down various games supporting occulus rift
the list is longer, i have a ridiculous amount of games on a lot of EDDs.
i have custom controllers, and to top it all off im building a MAME arcade cabinet.
MY FAVORITE GAMES I HAVE ARE
Killer Instinct 1 for Arcade and SNES Out of This World (Another World) on SNES (poor framerate who cares? dat soundtrack!!!!) Mirrors Edge on xbox 360 (oculus rift please be xbox compatible and mirrors edge compatible!!) Metroid Other M on wii (story =bad, controls =bad, gfx= whoa the wii can do really great gfx... me gusta) Zelda Ocarina of Time on N64 007 Goldeneye on N64 (dual wielding bazookas anyone?) hawken/mechassault/mechwarrior/robotech battlecry (who doesnt like games with giant robots blowing up and shooting each other?)
thats all i can think of but there is definitely more. i have a long gaming history. i dont think i play all of the games i have, but its a goal i have to one day say i have played every video game known to mankind. then i will have become the ultimate couch potato.
your building a mame cabinet as well. cool. that was why we have so many mame roms our is in my bro's playroom
What are you using the as the control board underneath the arcade buttons? its usually a keyboard or joypad hack.
I think one of my favourite games of any console has to be the PS1 game " Thrill kill" it was never released.. it got banned before it was ever out. it got remade as "Wu Tang - shaolin style" 4 player in a small room beating the living crap outta each other

im ordering a custom built control board with the layout of the killer instinc arcade cabinet. the innards are made from an old pc that was collecting dust (so old it only runs win xp as the highest os it can go.) i have it set to boot straight to mame. a custom usb keyboard type device is being used to connect the control board to the pc. a 27" lcd monitor is the display. it gets kinda hot (the pc) so i think i will need some extra fans in there... which means more acoustic dampening material.im also using some old logitech speakers. everything is connected to a single powerstrip which then plugs into an outlet. the strip is hidden inside the cabinet, with the switch removed and placed on the bottom lip of the cabinet. it is an upright and is approximately 32" wide and 6' tall. all in all it looks to be a great project. i plan on lighting up the marquee and adding fake coin slots that work as the "insert coin" button.
ours was made almost identical apart from we used a 21" LG flatron monitor as the display and rather than getting coin slots we had 2 smaller buttons mounted in the front lower panel (where the slots would go), we also had ours jump straight to Mame, all we did for that was mount a tiny 2mm diameter button on the outside of the cabinet hidden right at the top by the front marquee, which when hit, just put the computer into sleep mode.
Regarding cooling, we built a set of twin racks made from solid sticks of plastic which had been coated in rubber. We found it at the DIY store, cant remember what it was actually used for. but anyway we used that and just clipped the pc boards onto that, so it didnt have a case, it had the entire cabinet as its case didnt really have much of an issue with sound... or rather rumble noise. as the speakers.. we found this really odd set of car speakers, which had semi opaque orange speaker cones with a light behind them ( light up speakers) those and the marquee look cool when you turned the room lights off, they were mounted to the underside of the marquee shelf (i supposed directly above the control deck) so that cast a nice orangey glow over the control deck. We originally went with a keyboard hack for the control board to plug into. but we found a few issues, so we switched it out for two £12 usb game pads they had like 14 buttons each, so there was plenty of spare button soldering points left over after we finished connecting everything to them...
The issue we found (and it happens on 99% of all keyboards, even pro gaming keyboards) While its not needed very often, nearly all keyboards have several multi key combos that wont work. nearly all of them dont respond if you press F1,F2,F3 together or f1,f2,f4 and there are many other 3key or 4 key combos that do not work. but there are many other combos that do work just fine. and it just so happened, my bro had picked one of the combos that didnt work.. we only found it because we had a PC guitar hero clone and we made our own guitar controller for it, had it hard wired into the cabinet, and the first time my bro went to press Red,Green, Yellow and Strum, it just didnt react, as if he hadnt pressed anything. tuned out it was the key GREEN was wired to, that it didnt like, if we did Red, Blue and Yellow it worked fine. So that is something to be wary of, its not very often you will need a 3 key combo for anything. but just so you know, it does effect nearly all keyboards. apparently those slightly old apple keyboards, the really thin aluminium ones, they have 0 problems with 3 or 4 key combos. most standard run of the mill keyboards will have at least 10 sets of 3 key combos that wont work.. Now a days my bro has shirts hanging off his mame cabinet, we havent played it for a while, we should i miss playing centipede.

oh well its nit really a keyboard. its a small device that accepts inputs and tells the pc whether inputA is a joystick or a button, etc. so then i guess its a joypad, with 52 button hook ups.
guitar hero clone... frets on fire? or phase shift? i have both so i know what you mean. you can still buy keyboards that dont have a "max pressed buttons limit" you just have to know which ones dont have that.
my pc also uses the cabinet as its case. but my pc is so old it gets really hot really fast (i think dust got somewhere my dustoff cant reach or the heatsink is messed up or something) which is why i need extra fans. thus the sound dampening etc.
an idea i had while playing tdu2 the other day:
find a car in a junk yard that is in ok shape in the front and has a good interior. strip it of everything except the chassis, body panels, and all interior equipment/panels. cut the car in half just behind the driver and passenger seats and close opening with a large piece of metal. add a center support beam so the car can sit like it still had back wheels. place pc in engine comparent. remove the windows and center mirror and replace with screens, put a custom controller into the car and connect to tdu2. run a camera hack and/or display hack that allows the display to wrap around the car. change fov to approx 170 or so, and set the rear view cam to project to the center mirror screen. lock the camera to hood view and voila. i know it sounds like a lot of work, but that would be the ultimate racing setup. and for out of car control, wire a joypad into the center console.
heheh Frets on fire. i actually made 5 FoF guitars in total. 2 for me, one for my dad and 2 i was paid to make for some guys on the forum. Ive been a member on the Frets on fire fan forum longer than the admin has Thats the site where everybody goes thinking they can find help for guitar hero pc, or where you can get millions of multi track songs from i am also one of the guys who owns/runs the fof IRC chat room.
In fairness RFmod FOFix and phaseshift all came from fof originally. Everyone played fof, then wanted to expand it themselves, so people went off and created fofix and phase shift . Both originally used the bog standard fof song format. But phase shift then tweaked it slightly so they use a slightly different song format now, i believe both used most of the original game code in the beginning, before getting complete rewrites.
Regarding the ultimate racing cockpit Yeah everyone dreams of doing that..
We actually went to a few breakers yards to try and find a nice dashboard we could rip out of a smashed up car. we looked at a few bmw's and a few jags.. in the end we realised even if we found a good one, we wouldnt have the room in the house for it
The best one ive seen so far was a promo for forza. where they got a working bmw, hooked the cars controls into some kind of control board, put backing paper on each of the windows, and jacked the car off the ground. Forza can do a 5 screen display, if you hook 5 xbox's together. so thats what they did. but rather than use monitors they projected onto the (now white) windows. using the 5th display externally so people outside the car could see his lap on the drive by/replay cam. But yeah basically a real bmw was the controller for forza . i dont think i could squeeze a bmw through my front door unfortunately
