Here is a rough preview. It's not even a months worth of progress. [Clickety Click]
I have a rough understanding of 3D concepts due to school and OG help from Nobby on teaching me basic concepts back in the day. I'm learning something new every time I work on the mod
I'm a beta tester as well. In addition to beta testing I'm making my first car mod. An Acura Integra Type R with a JDM front end conversion (what I drive in irl haha)
Would love to hear some news on it. I saw that it had moved to turbo duck but couldn't really find info.. Its alive? Any info would be interesting, Audrey thanks!
Yooo it’s been a phat minute. Hope y’all are doin good. Saw that test drive is makin a comeback which is so dope. Cant wait to see what they come up with
How to get to Eden Island How to use the advanced challenge editor
The attached is maybe the worlds easiest mod (one file).. will work on any version of the game and requires no game file extraction etc etc.... Works fine online.. add's no performance enhancing ability or disadvantage to other players.... just plain old fun..
Updated to work with dlc2 build 16. There are now two versions available..
Both versions will allow you to teleport/move to any part of the map - including eden island and off-road locations. Both versions will allow you to see AI traffic on your GPS system ( no more risky overtaking ) Both versions will skip the two intro movies and jump directly to the Start screen. One version will also give you the advanced challenge editor interface.. allowing placement of cones, cars, barrels, gates, hotspots etc etc into your challenges.
cool huh...
need to use mouse 'as well' in the editor (for those using pads/controllers)
you made this... Wow dude, " you iz like sum supa haxorz now " Great work, 2 thumbs up.
Something i just noticed.. you also turned on traffic cars on the gps, confused the hell out of me the first few seconds, it looked like more than 8 friends were all really close by when only 3 friends were online... Is there any way the colour could be changed. its currently on bright green ( same colour as friends ) if you only have certain colours you can use, perhaps it would be better to use the blue ( from the cops red and blue gps dot) You would notice a red flash on a blue dot ( for cops ) compared to just a blue dot for traffic cars. And it would stop people ( well me ) thinking a friend was on the same road as you.
ahh yeah, traffic shows up.. I was trying to mod the amount of traffic but failed. no idea about colour change.. no colour settings as far as I can tell.
btw.. I have had some success with the extra features this unlocks in the challenge editor.. but it's stil mostly a mystery.. it is possible to zoom much further into the map though to place cones etc etc.. but.. yeah placing cones and barrels.. they seem to act weird 'sometimes..
Something else i noticed this mod does, or rather doesn't do any more. The two intro sequences do not play . It goes directly from game booting to the bit where it says "press start" Was you aware this happened, i mean did you make it do this or is this just a by product of the mod? So far it does teleport to any location, advanced challenge editor, all vehicles are shown on GPS and no intro movies.. Is there anything else it currently does that we are not aware of ? or is there more stuff you can turn on in the mod that you haven't so far? would be interesting to see what can and can't be done...
heheh, I do recall seeing the option for disabling intro vids.. but forgot I even tried it. yes.. is intentional!
Below is the entire unencrypted file: Note, that this also has a lot of tweaks to the traffic density levels where I was trying to increase the amount in offline mode. Although none of them seem to have any effect in-game.
You need to use tdudec to encrypt the file again for TDU2 if you feel so inclined to try some edits.

Really nice work man, although it's a pretty simple mod as you said. But for me, this would be huge. Maybe because I never modded any game lol What kind of knowledge do you need to mod like this? I haven't looked at that .xml file yet, but I guess it's not like "Car density level:......" (type high medium or low) hehe Did you mod alot before or? Anyway I never think I'll be a super haxxor but I'm just keen to know

Actually modding most of TDU ( so i presume tdu2 is very similar) is a lot like that.. The file that fo0k posted is mostly things like...... GPS trail width ( thickness of the line drawn on your gps when you drive about i presume) has a setting of 0-2000 ( i think ) the default is set at 500. a lot of the other settings are usually just True/False or 0/1 ( for on or off ) Although most of the settings didnt make any sense to me when i looked, the way you mod them was easy enough to understand.
And modding car settings isnt even that tricky, as someone wrote a modding tools ( for cars ) allowing you to do anything from change the display name of the vehicle, to how many gears it had, weather it was a manual, tiptronic or full auto gearbox. what colours are available in the list when you buy a car, what show room it appears at, how much it cost, how rare the car was.. The same modding tools app has been partly developed for tdu2 as well. thats how people are able to make new cars with there own settings. but as far as i know its not fully ready for public release ( or wasnt last time i looked )
For most aspects of modding tdu1/2 editors are made, so there is no need to be a super haxxor. just click the little boxes you want and your done..
