Here is a rough preview. It's not even a months worth of progress. [Clickety Click]
I have a rough understanding of 3D concepts due to school and OG help from Nobby on teaching me basic concepts back in the day. I'm learning something new every time I work on the mod
I'm a beta tester as well. In addition to beta testing I'm making my first car mod. An Acura Integra Type R with a JDM front end conversion (what I drive in irl haha)
Would love to hear some news on it. I saw that it had moved to turbo duck but couldn't really find info.. Its alive? Any info would be interesting, Audrey thanks!
Yooo it’s been a phat minute. Hope y’all are doin good. Saw that test drive is makin a comeback which is so dope. Cant wait to see what they come up with
Not really anything TDU related, but its something else i do in my spare time..
I got hold of the new Lightwave 3D 11 and was giving its new physics engine, named " bullet " a test run. A recent movie bullet physics was used for was the disaster movie 2012, all the destruction and debris was controlled by bullet. Also Lightwave 11 is almost exclusively used for the soon to be released movie Iron Skies. This was just a quick test, took about 15 minutes to completely set up and simulate, i didn't even bother to render the animation i just recorded directly from the preview window. Anyway heres the test...
Made another quick test piece, this time using an obligatory tower.. Roughly around 400 chunks ( i could take it much higher, but this was a little test ) then hurl a big bomb shaped thingy through the middle of it. I particularly like the way some of the corner posts stay together until hitting the ground.
The right one looks more like a ladyshaver ...no just kidding. Both cool bikes, but the left one is more my taste. It has something from the dark-knight-tumbler-bike.

lol they are the same bike the Light cycle from from the movie Tron.
!lol I really didn't mention that one pic is frontview and the other from the back.
...this wont turn out to a tdu2-mod, aren't it? (Something like that ingame would be amazing.)
No unfortunately this wouldnt work as a tdu mod. All 3 bikes in the game require the user to be able to sit upright at some point. This bike could not allow that to happen. Although i do have the official models from the latest tron game, so i have hires versions of all the light cycles ( which if i remember correctly have an open top ) I have loads of different bike models on my hdd. Quite a few could be converted to work with tdu.
Lol ok heres what other 3d stuff ive been up to recently...
for the past week, ive spent almost all my free time extracting most of the models from the game Lollipop chainsaw. Yeah i know the game is a bit crap, but the models are somewhat popular, ive seen a few other ripping attempts of them, but only usually a few models here or there, ive extracted around 130 models. Most of the important characters ( including all 25 costumes for Juliet) Loads of zombies, a handful of weapons and a few misc props.
Heres a couple of quick renders... click to see bigger...
If anyone is interested in obtaining these models, they come in LWO (lightwave object) and OBJ ( wavefront, everything can import this format) have all the UVmaps and textures included. And rocks in at a whopping 1.2GB ( zipped.. 2.4GB unpacked) but thats mostly textures.. But yeah if you want these give me a shout and i will supply links..
If anyone wants them i also have objects from these games as well... Street fighter 4 Soul calibur 4( the one with yoda and darth vader in it) Tom Clancey's Hawx Mortal Kombat Vs DC universe F1 2010 Spiderman friend or foe Batman Arkham Asylum AND Arkham city Bioshock 2 Tron evolution TF2 Transformers Dark of the moon Painkiller Hell and damnation Lollipop Chainsaw.
Just let me know and i will sort links out. Please dont ask me silly questions about the models like " how do i load them in" or " the textures don't work, what do i do" because if you know enough to be messing models like these then you know enough to fix it yourself. And if you dont know enough then you shouldnt be messing with these yet, learn the basics first before trying something a little more advanced.
Heres something im up to right now... This is the 83 GMC Vendura (aka the A-TEAM van) Currently working on an A team spoof, so i needed the van from forza 4. Ignore all the odd colours those are just the pre assigned surface colours, i still have to assign the right colours and textures to the surfaces.

The hardest part of this was getting the whole thing together, as the interior and exterior are normally 2 separate objects. And the doors were never meant to open on this vehicle as it is not an AutoVista model. But i managed to split the doors ( both inside and out) away from the rest of the model (all 5 of them) so they can all be animated now..
I also reworked the UV mapping of the main body as it wasnt laid out very friendly. Now its much easier to work with..
So if anyone wanted to convert this over to tdu reskinning it would be a lot easier for users.
Ill post more images as im closer to finishing the van.
Is that a project for TDU2? If yes "AWESOME" Cruising with the A-Team Van would be so damn cool. I saw the car in Forza Horizon and since then i just wait for a modrelease. Nice job so far.
no it isnt for tdu well that was not the plan at least. I have no idea how to make car mods, i will leave that to other people. It could be for tdu though, if someone wanted to convert it.
As i said in the other post, im doing an A team spoof ( cg animation) so i needed the model. Done some of the surfacing already today. re assigning proper colours, then i just gotta apply the textures to those surfaces and it should all be good to go.
something i just thought of... I know some of the modders are really good at what they do. if someone knows how to make a car behave as if it has a sunroof, then i can think of a very fun idea for that The sliding door on the side of the van, could be controlled by the sunroof, press the button and the sidedoor slides open ( the model even has the door track runner inside)
Heres an update of the A-Team van i was working on.. Its now textured and has proper materials assigned, The interior and exterior are now merged into one file. Had to make the rims myself as the wheels on the A team van are not the standard GMC wheels that come with this model. The A-Team wheels look a a lot like Delorian wheels, so i grabbed those and modified them to look as close as i can get to the real wheels.
Anyway heres some pics.. These are not "Final renders" they are just very basic ( load the object, add a light, render) No real world lighting or global illuminations or anything like that hehe
